The Claims Department at Henderson Brothers works with our existing and prospective clients to develop a Service Plan that assists in managing claims to the best outcomes. Our Claims Department handles your claim from the beginning, becoming your advocate in your time of need. If you would like to find out more about the claims reporting process, or if you need to report a claim, please visit the Your Claims section of the site.
Our Claims Department service capabilities also include:
- Claims Reporting - Prompt reporting of all claims is essential. While many carriers offer direct claims reporting, we prefer all claims be reported to Henderson Brothers. All claims are reported to the appropriate carriers. This allows us to enter the claim onto our system to monitor the claim throughout the claim process. This process allows us to begin gathering valuable data that will assist us in managing your claims in the future. Claims can be reported to Henderson Brothers by telephone, fax, email or online.
- 24-7 Claims - Henderson Brothers offers our clients the ability to report claims 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is a service that is performed by Henderson Brothers personnel who are equipped to respond to your questions, concerns, and assist in assigning experts or restoration companies to mitigate damages.
- HBI Loss Runs - We’ve taken the best of each carrier’s loss run and developed our own Loss Run Report. As claims are reported to Henderson Brothers, we capture all data available. This allows us to track claims by locations and departments as well as identify trends to better manage both the frequency and severity of claims. Our HBI Loss Run is used as a monthly report for many clients.
- Monthly Loss Run Review - For accounts with frequency, we review the carrier’s loss runs on a monthly basis and prepare our clients with a summary report showing a snapshot of the claim financials by policy year as well as provide you with an update on all open claims.
- Open Claims Status Reports - In beginning a new relationship with a client, we recognize that there may be existing claims that still need attention. We offer to review all open claims and prepare a Claim Status Report which outlines the loss investigation, liability/compensability determination, financials (amounts paid, reserves and incurred amounts), current status and plan of action. We offer you options so that you can make the best business decision for your organization.
- Quarterly Claim Reviews - We coordinate a meeting with you, the adjuster, and Henderson Brothers on a quarterly basis to review all open claims. This gives everyone the opportunity to discuss the claim and come to an agreed Plan of Action going forward. This avoids surprises and helps keep your claim files on the proper course toward closure with the best outcomes.
- Claims Analysis Reports and Trending (CART) - This is a proprietary system developed by Henderson Brothers to trend losses. The data we compile from the initial claim report, throughout the claim process, is captured and downloaded into this software. We are able to slice and dice the data to create charts and graphs that will identify where losses are occurring, the cause of your losses, the types of injuries, and body parts involved. We breakout losses by time of day, day of the week, and month of the year. We identify losses by department, task, and age of employee. This information assists in reducing the frequency and severity of claims.
- Workers Compensation - The WC laws in most states provide employers with some ability to control WC claims. We assist our clients in making certain those controls are in place. We assist clients in the following areas:
- Create and review existing Physician Panels to manage the medical portion of a claim.
- Establishing a formal Transitional/Modified Duty Return to Work Program to maximize savings on the indemnity portion of claims.
- Review Unit Stat filing to be certain accurate amounts are reported.
- Monitor cases to preserve time limitations for filing mod revisions on cases resolved favorable in litigation or on case where recoveries are made.
- Litigation Management - Where possible, we negotiate with the carrier for designated counsel to be assigned to your account. This is typically not a problem in loss-sensitive programs where the expenses are paid by the client. In fully-insured programs, it is best to negotiate this option at renewal.
