Supreme Court rules in favor of subsidies in state and federal exchanges

The Supreme Court ruled today that premium subsidies used to buy health insurance on the Federal Exchange are legal. The 6-3 majority decision in King v. Burwell means we all move forward status quo — i.e., federal tax credits will continue to be offered to those who enroll in the federal Marketplace.

We will continue to monitor our legal resources for regulatory changes and will be prepared to offer expert advice and strategy when new guidance or rules impact benefit design, administration and/or cost.
